Hawks Advance to 2nd Round

For the first time in 10 years, the Atlanta Hawks will be playing in a second round of the NBA Playoffs, after easily handling the Miami Heat in Game 7 of their first round series.

This game pretty much followed the same formula as the other 6, with the exception of a few lead changes in the 1st quarter. Amazingly, all 7 games in this series featured no lead changes after the 1st quarter, and all ended with a double digit lead. This one ended with a 13 point win for the Hawks at 91-78. Joe Johnson was terrific in this game, hitting some unbelievable 3 pointers, and ending with 27 points. Josh Smith had 21 points for the Hawks. Dwayne Wade led all scorers with 31 points.

Now the Hawks get to take on the best team in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Game 1 will be in Cleveland on Tuesday, May 5th at 8:00 PM.
